LGBT Business Forum 2018: Business & Diversity

This event is part of Slovak Queer Film Festival.

LGBTI Business Forum 2018 - Diversity in Business takes place under the auspices of Věra Jourová, Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality.

The EC Representation in Slovakia together with Diversity Pro (NGO) will introduce LGBTI success stories of LGBTI entrepreneurs who will share their own stories and journeys at "Diversity in Business/LGBTI Business Forum 2018". We will focus on specific schemes which help people create and run their own businesses. We will also present companies who reinvest their earnings and in so doing strengthen the community. We will hear how it is to be openly gay while running a business at the same time. How to overcome challenges, support the community, and create further business opportunities.

Experts in diversity area will share opportunities which can support the creation and management of company and recruitment in the business world. The Commission will explain its activities to support diversity in the EU and the cross jurisdictional implications of LGBTI legislation regarding equality and rights of LGBTI. Our aim in doing this is to bring forth current trends and situation in the workplace environment, and highlighting the importance of empowering LGBTI Diversity in leadership and visibility. Our guest speakers will cover an array of related topics, delivered through presentations focused on the benefits of openly supporting LGBTI community and some ideas on how to improve business in the EU.
